Write Your Name In Japanese Katakana

About:

PLEASE KINDLY MESSAGE ME BEFORE BUYING THIS GIG

Would you like your name written in Japanese katakana?

Katakana is a Japanese alphabet that is mainly used for nouns and names that are originally from foreign cultures. For example, chocolate is チョコレート, and Michael Jackson is written as マイケル.ジャクソン. With katakana, Japanese people can read and pronounce those foreign names with the closest Japanese pronunciation.

If you introduce yourself with your name in katakana, it is easier for Japanese to acknowledge and call your name. Otherwise, many Japanese may be timid to call you because they are afraid their pronunciation of your name is wrong.

However, Japanese pronunciation is almost always with vowels. That means, those sounds that consist of only consonants are hard or impossible to pronounce for Japanese people. When written in katakana, those consonant sounds are adjusted to the closest sound with vowel. For example, Brad Pitt is ブラッド.ピット, pronounced as Buraddo Pitto. It doesn't sound exactly the same, but that's the way it is in Japan.
